Acoustic Data Limited is an SME based in Woking, developing and manufacturing electromechanical equipment for use in oil the oil and gas industry. Owing to a forthcoming retirement a fantastic opportunity has become available for a Manufacturing Manager. This would be an ideal chance for someone from a manufacturing, planning or shift leader role with assembly experience looking to take their next career step. It would also be attractive to a seasoned individual who wants to break away from big company bureaucracy and get back to being part of a hands-on team where everyone counts towards the company’s performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of mechanical and electronic assembly staff
  • Manage stock levels and ensure material availability as needed
  • Manage subcontract manufacturers and suppliers
  • Triage supplier queries and concession requests
  • Take responsibility for quality of assembly and testing
  • Ensure production targets and quality targets are achieved, using simple production planning
  • Ensure that records and processes are kept up to date
  • Take part in continuous improvement of product and process quality
  • Lead safe work practices on the shop floor


  • Practical with good mechanical aptitude
  • Verbal and written fluency in the English language
  • Ability to update documents within Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Team player
  • Reading mechanical drawings
  • Right to work in the UK


  • HND or similar qualification in a relevant field
  • Verbal and written fluency in the English language
  • Experience of managing a small team of individuals inside or outside work
  • Ability to use hand and power and light machine tools
  • Previous experience working in the assembly or production of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Note that oil and gas experience is not a requirement
